Journey’s end.
Our final day of filming at the tallest standing stone in the British Isles.
We still had much work to do – record the voice-over, pick up some in car shots and I still had 8 months of
editing ahead of me – but this is where the adventure part of making Standing with [...]

We loved the Recumbent Stone Circles of Aberdeenshire.
It may not be clear what their purpose was, but it’s heartnening to find so many all together that clearly share a purpose. It must have been an important one: the size of those altar stones!

The friendliest chaffinch I’ve ever known makes a play for the remains of my pork pie. In fact all the small birds around this picnic area were this tame.
Nice.

I was determined to get some great Highland scenery to make a Scottish travel sequence for the film. The cameraman’s clearly had enough but Mr. Soskin, a.k.a. Indiana Jones, still has the true grit to be able
to put in a bit of Tomb Raiding – and photograph himself doing it at the same time!

With shooting at Maes Howe, Brodgar, Stenness, Skara Brae and the Tomb of the Eagles complete, the end of the film is in the can.
However, the work is not over as we now must pick up the sites we missed in the East on our way home.
